Everything worked out really well, and we had a very good and interesting time. We thought, however, that you might welcome a few thoughts, observations and comments. Below, scattered and unedited, but self-explanatory:
– It was a lot cooler at night than I had expected in Muscat, and quite windy. And for the desert I wish I had brought more than just a sweater.
– Salalah Hilton has excellent chefs and nice staff (Philippino mostly). The hotel is very isolated: perfect for rest and a nice outings and diving. Lots of Swedes (charter holidays).
– The dive tour organisers at the Hilton were very nice and had really good service.
– Mirbat will be a great destination once The Golden Tulip finally opens.
– We had a really nice Belgian guide, Adinda, for our inland tour. I would recommend her as a good driver as well as pleasant and knowledgeable company.
– Muscat Crown Plaza was good, but the restaurant staff not as dedicated as in Salalah.
Wishing you all the best for 2007! Terhi
